One of the oldest cities in Tuscany, Arezzo was inhabited by the Etruscans and later by the Romans, as evidenced by the numerous finds preserved in the Archaeological Museum. Its beautiful Medieval and Renaissance historical centre was captured by Roberto Benigni in the famous film "Life Is Beautiful", which won an Oscar in 1999.
